MOBILE ROBOTS IN THE WAREHOUSE: RECENT CASE STUDIES FROM DISTRIBUTORS, MANUFACTURERS, AND FULFILLMENT CENTERS
All Robotics Events
At this time, there exists a rapidly growing number of companies who have adopted autonomous mobile robots in their warehouses and distribution centers, where they have delivered real business value as an efficient, robust and flexible solution for many applications. Many of these firms deployed AMRs on a trial or project basis, and are now considering more strategic, scaled rollouts. For non-adopters, too, the issue of scaling AMRs from pilot projects to autonomous fleets is a key concern. In this RoboBusiness Direct roundtable discussion, attendees with learn from solutions providers and industry experts about critical AMR scaling challenges and solutions.
Grasping and manipulation, the ability to directly and physically interact with and modify objects in the environment, is perhaps the greatest differentiator between robotic systems and all other classes of automated systems. Many types of robots require the ability to coordinate tactile, vision, and proprioceptive sensing to pick-up and operate on all manner of objects, with goals ranging from providing human-like dexterity and autonomous manipulation, to high precision repeatability, and on to super human strength and endurance. During this panel session, attendees will learn of the latest technologies and techniques commercially available to support robotics picking, grasping and manipulation, as well as solutions emerging from the lab that will allow for whole new classes of robotics applications.
In this RoboBusiness Direct session, attendees will learn of the business, technology, and social issues driving the industrial exoskeleton market, and the many ways exoskeleton technologies – powered and unpowered - are being used in warehouses and manufacturing sites today. The session will also include a discussion of the industrial exoskeleton technical and operational issues, and how exo technologies could be utilized in other sectors – both of which are opportunity indicators for robotics solution providers and enabling technology suppliers.
For many companies considering AMRs, questions remain… are they productive as advertised, are they cost effective, can they be integrated with other automation technology, can they be scaled? In this RoboBusiness Direct roundtable session, a series of case studies of AMR installations in warehouse environments will provide answers to these questions (and more).
