Moxa released the ioLogik W5348-HSDPA-C, a C/C++ programmable 3G RTU controller featuring a Linux/GNU platform adapted for data acquisition and condition monitoring. The main advantage of this open C platform is its user-friendly SDKs, which help economize installation and configuration time by reducing programming overhead in key areas such as I/O control and condition monitoring, interoperability with SCADA/DB, and improving smart communication controls, including cellular connection and SMS.

For remote pipeline monitoring applications where wired communication devices are not available, engineers are always on the lookout for wireless solutions that are more reliable, efficient, and easier to deploy. This integrated 3G platform combines a cellular modem, an I/O controller, and a data logger into one compact device, greatly simplifying operation and maintenance. Compared to other programmable platforms, this rugged Linux-based C controller delivers maximum coding flexibility in ready-to-use SDKs, making I/O control and alarming easier than ever through cellular communication. Engineers can now create imaginative, user-defined programs that integrate with localized domains, giving end-users considerable additional value.

In addition to remote data collection, the ioLogik W5348-HSDPA-C also supports stand-alone data logging in a storage space expandable up to 32 GB, and comes with the innovative, patented Active OPC Server software based on push technology. Engineers can expect many significant value-added benefits that include reductions in data transmission, lower hardware costs, and reduced deployment and maintenance costs.
