Microscan Unveils New AutoVISION® Machine Vision Technology at The Vision Show

Microscan, a global technology leader in barcode, machine vision and lighting solutions, will launch their newest innovations in machine vision software and hardware in Booth #323 at the upcoming Vision Show conference and exhibition, scheduled to take place April 15-17, 2014.

RENTON, WA, March 18, 2014 - Microscan, a global technology leader in barcode, machine vision and lighting solutions, will launch their newest innovations in machine vision software and hardware in Booth #323 at the upcoming Vision Show conference and exhibition, scheduled to take place April 15-17, 2014 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.

Microscan's award-winning AutoVISION® machine vision software combines a simplified user interface with a powerful toolset for inspection, error proofing, and identification applications. Since its introduction in 2011, AutoVISION® has been widely adopted by manufacturers looking to implement machine vision-based systems with minimal time, effort, and training. The new AutoVISION® 3.0 release will provide additional capabilities such as Optical Character Recognition (OCR) with advanced IntelliText algorithms for hard-to-read text; DotCode symbol support; barcode quality verification reports available in PDF or plain-text format; and four password-protected security levels to control access to software functionality. The new web-based CloudLink HMI generates a visual display of AutoVISION® machine vision inspection data on any browser-enabled device, including smart phones and tablets. CloudLink's fully-customizable Dashboard Interface enables a real time view of linked inspection images and results, while the Application Programming Interface (API) allows CloudLink technology to be added to custom software.

Also launching with AutoVISION 3.0 is Microscan's new industrial Vision MINI Xi, the world's smallest fully-integrated smart camera with embedded Ethernet. Featuring both Ethernet and serial connectivity, a 24-volt interface, and optically isolated I/O, the Vision MINI Xi is perfect for close-range industrial machine vision applications. Color identification and image processing are available on the Vision MINI Xi, as well as the full range of Vision MINI, Vision HAWK, and Vision HAWK C-Mount Smart Cameras supported by AutoVISION® 3.0 software.

The AutoVISION® suite of products continues to provide an ideal solution for manufacturers who need to read barcodes, but need the flexibility to add additional inspection capabilities to their processes using a single hardware device. Featuring unique scalable architecture, AutoVISION® offers a single user-friendly vision system for evolving application needs, protecting the customer's time, effort, and capital investment in their system. All smart cameras run on the same vision software with easy job portability, or upgrade to Microscan's advanced Visionscape® platform while keeping the same cameras.

Schmalz Technology Development - The Right Gripper for Every Task

In order to interact with their environment and perform the tasks, lightweight robots, like all industrial robots, depend on tools - and in many cases these are vacuum grippers. These form the interface to the workpiece and are therefore a decisive part of the overall system. With their help, the robots can pick up, move, position, process, sort, stack and deposit a wide variety of goods and components. Vacuum gripping systems allow particularly gentle handling of workpieces, a compact and space-saving system design and gripping from above. Precisely because the object does not have to be gripped, the vacuum suction cupenables gapless positioning next to each other.
