FloorBotics Announces the Successful Design and Prototyping of a Revolutionary Floor-Sanitizing Robot

Product design company, Creative Edge Products, recently completed the designing and prototyping of SaniBot® for a leading robotics company in the cleaning industry, FloorBotics, Inc. The revolutionary new robot offers a remarkable automated, hands-free way to reliably sanitize floors where they are needed most – at schools, hospitals, day care centers, and other public institutions.

For many, cleaning and sanitizing floors will get much simpler thanks to a breakthrough product from FloorBotics called SaniBot®. FloorBotics chose the expert development team at Creative Edge Products headquartered in Round Rock, Texas. Creative Edge successfully performed all the Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) work and delivered the components for SaniBot®. The spokesman for FloorBotics said, "We chose Creative Edge because of their demonstrated ability to design complex enclosures but in such a way that they can be manufactured and are aesthetically pleasing. All of the pieces fit together the first time they were fabricated. Excellent design work on their part." This unique floor sanitizing robot, SaniBot®, is expected to be released soon.

"This was a very interesting project and we really believe strongly in this remarkable product", commented a spokesperson from Creative Edge Products. "Being able to use a smart robot to sanitize floors is something that will save many institutions and businesses a great deal of work, time and money. It's always satisfying being part of a project like this and we can't wait to hear what people think of SaniBot®."

According to the company, SaniBot® was developed for use in hospitals, schools, and other places where there's both an abundance of germs and a very big need to protect human health and life through sanitation.

FloorBotics, with offices in Austin, Texas and Melbourne, Australia, is an international leader in the field of robotics, with decades of experience in the cleaning space. Their focus is to make indoor environments healthier while reducing cleaning costs through the use of robots that deliver equal or superior performance at a fraction of the cost of manual labor.

ST Robotics Develops the Workspace Sentry for Collaborative Robotics

The ST Robotics Workspace Sentry robot and area safety system are based on a small module that sends an infrared beam across the workspace. If the user puts his hand (or any other object) in the workspace, the robot stops using programmable emergency deceleration. Each module has three beams at different angles and the distance a beam reaches is adjustable. Two or more modules can be daisy chained to watch a wider area. "A robot that is tuned to stop on impact may not be safe. Robots where the trip torque can be set at low thresholds are too slow for any practical industrial application. The best system is where the work area has proximity detectors so the robot stops before impact and that is the approach ST Robotics has taken," states President and CEO of ST Robotics David Sands.
