Matrox Rapixo CXP Are The First Frame Grabbers Fully Certified For CoaXPress 2.0
Matrox Imaging's lineup of boards support the highest speeds available in CoaXPress 2.0
MONTREAL, Quebec, 1 June 2021—Matrox® Imaging is pleased to announce that their lineup of Matrox Rapixo CXP frame grabbers are the first on the market to receive complete CoaXPress® 2.0 certification from the Japan Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA).
Designed to fit every high-speed need
The Matrox Rapixo CXP series of CoaXPress 2.0 frame grabbers deliver single- to quad-input boards with models for optional data forwarding and FPGA-based image processing offload.
Providing right-sized connectivity for any vision installation, Matrox Rapixo CXP Quad, Dual, and Single models support data rates of up to 12.5 Gbps (CXP-12) per connection and offer one, two, or four connections for interfacing to independent or multi-connection cameras. Matrox Rapixo CXP Pro models—based on Xilinx Kintex® UltraScale™ devices—also allow for integration of custom on-board image processing and process control. Matrox Rapixo CXP Quad Data Forwarding combines CoaXPress 2.0 connectivity with a data forwarding option to help distribute image processing across multiple computers.
With Power-over-CoaXPress (PoCXP) support on each connection, every frame grabber in the Matrox Rapixo CXP series streamlines system configurations, combining the camera's power interface with its command- and data-interface onto the same coaxial cable. These frame grabbers also feature enough onboard memory to buffer incoming image data in situations where the host computer is temporarily unable to accept data.
Matrox Rapixo CXP series are the backbone of the exceptionally broad lineup of frame grabber boards available from Matrox Imaging.
Developed in collaboration with global standards organizations
CoaXPress is the only standard that allows video, camera control, and triggering over a single coaxial cable. Delivering speeds of up to 12.5 Gbps over a coaxial cable, CoaXPress 2.0 pushes the limit of what is achieveable on a copper cable at long distance (up to 40 m). Matrox Imaging worked closely with component manufacturers to ensure the design of the series of Matrox Rapixo CXP frame grabbers met the strict requirements of the CoaXPress 2.0 standard.
An active participant in international standardization committees—including CoaXPress—Matrox Imaging is helping to develop standards that serve and protect the best interest of customers worldwide. They champion industry standards in their product offer, designing hardware and software components that work with as many third-party products as possible.
"Certification of this nature, and the backing of an international governing body like the JIIA, is extremely important for our customers," says Mitchell Dumont, Product Manager of Frame Grabbers, Matrox Imaging. "It assures our customers a great experience—in terms of product interoperability and stability—when using our frame grabbers. Our collaboration informs our product designs, and is the key reason we are industry frontrunners in machine vision technology."
