LG AUTONOMOUS ROBOTS TAKE HITEC 2022 BY STORM

Disinfecting, Serving and Guiding UL Certified Robots Featured Together For First Time at Largest Hospitality Tech Show

Showing how it is providing a complete range of application-specific autonomous robots to the hospitality industry, LG Business Solutions USA is demonstrating three unique UL-certified robots at HITEC 2022. Appearing together at a trade show for the first time, the LG CLOi ServeBot, the LG CLOi GuideBot tour guide robot and the newly UL certified1 autonomous LG CLOi UV-C Bot will roam Booth #525 in the Orange County Convention Center.

"LG is committed to leading the way in the development of a broad range of autonomous robots that can improve and enhance the hospitality experience for our channel partners," said Michael Kosla, LG Business Solutions USA's hospitality vice president. "The three models being demonstrated at HITEC provide a roadmap of our future direction for hospitality partners."
The LG CLOi ServeBot is the world's first commercial service robot earning UL 3300 certification1 for safe operation in complex commercial environments such as restaurants, retail stores and hotels. U.S. workers now will be able to safely use robot assistants that navigate busy environments while carrying up to 66 pounds of food or goods, assisting with employee workloads, enabling better customer service, and increasing operational efficiency.
"The CLOi ServeBot's semi-autonomous operation offers businesses an effective means to provide enhanced service, while freeing staff to focus on customer relations and build relationships that encourage repeat visits. Whether it's delivering food from the kitchen to a table or packages from the storage room to the front counter, LG's CLOi ServeBot can navigate virtually any environment and free up staff to handle direct customer service," Kosla said.

The LG CLOi GuideBot is the newest addition to the LG CLOi family of autonomous service robots, and it's the first to tackle complex user interactions like answering voice questions, accompanying guests to their destination, and displaying visual information about facilities and services.
"This UL certified1 robot can greet, inform and entertain customers in a variety of settings and situations, from hotels and movie theaters to museums and hospitals, all while gathering valuable data on usage that can be used to streamline operations and improve customer experiences," explained Kosla.
The LG CLOi GuideBot stands just under five feet tall and greets everyone with a friendly 9.2-inch LG LCD "face" display. Using a high-quality microphone, 3D camera and 18 sensors, the robot can navigate busy spaces and react to approaching users with visual and auditory effects. The dual 27-inch LG touch screens, located on the front and back of the robot's main body can display interactive and static digital content, like menus, maps, and videos.
The flexible nature of the LG CLOi GuideBot provides many advantages for facility operators looking to create new revenue streams or enhance services. The advertisement feature can be used virtually anywhere the public is present, so hotels can host ads for nearby attractions, or a movie theater can advertise its food and beverage offerings to people waiting in the ticket line. In conjunction with the other LG CLOi robots, the GuideBot can form part of an always-on, data-rich ecosystem of autonomous assistants that lighten employee workloads and enhance safety.

The LG CLOi UV-C Bot, the latest to be UL certified1, uses ultraviolet (UV-C) light to disinfect2 high-touch, high-traffic areas to efficiently help achieve a high level of hygiene. Because of its autonomous design, the robot can move easily around tables, chairs, and other furniture, generally irradiating a room's touchable surfaces in 15 to 30 minutes. The autonomous robot can disinfect2 multiple areas on a single battery charge, providing more coverage than static robots alone.
Engineered to be easy to operate, the robot can integrate into established cleaning routines without requiring extensive staff training or specialists to operate it. Staff members can monitor progress via remote updates to mobile phones or tablets.
Distinct to the Autonomous UV-C Bot is its wall-following mode. Once turned on, the robot will spin 360 degrees to scan its entire environment, then travel to the nearest wall or obstacle, keep it to its left and move around the room until it returns to the exact spot it started. Employee exposure to UV rays is minimized through a built-in safety lock activated by thermal sensors, as well as an emergency stop function triggered by a button on the robot or via a mobile app.
The UL certification of all three models is a major step forward for commercial and consumer robots, with UL 3300 signifying a new standard for SCIEE units. Pronounced "sky," SCIEE stands for Service, Communication, Information, Education and Entertainment. These robots are built to operate in open-world dynamic environments where they perform functional actions beyond monitoring and can adapt in real-time to changes in the environment.

1. UL Certification for safe operation in complex commercial environments, such as restaurants, retail stores and hotels, is subject to certain restrictions in the operating environment, which must be evaluated on an individual premises by premises basis.
2. Disinfects hard, non-porous surfaces. Demonstrated 99.999% efficacy in testing against staphylococcusaureus and pseudomonas aeruginosa on glass and stainless steel carriers.
