AI & machine vision based software company ABAGY has launched a new robotic demo cell in California
The company breaks the stereotype about robots being applicable only for the mass production of thousands of identical products, such as the automotive industry or electronics. With ABAGY's software, manufacturers can use the robots for custom projects or even one-of-a-kind details. No robot programming is required.
Oct 17, 2022, Santa Clara, CA — ABAGY opened a new robotic cell in Santa Clara at JP Metal Fabrication's manufacturing site.
ABAGY is revolutionizing the industrial robotics market by extending robots' applicability to non-serial production. The company breaks the stereotype about robots being applicable only for the mass production of thousands of identical products, such as the automotive industry or electronics. With ABAGY's software, manufacturers can use the robots for custom projects or even one-of-a-kind details. No robot programming is required.
This is the video of the new cell at JP Metal Fabrication: https://youtu.be/3099311GquM.The robot is equipped with machine vision and ABAGY software. Here's how the process looks with ABAGY:
• The JPMF's specialists upload the 3D models of the products.
• They select the welds and determine the welding parameters.
• The robots automatically weld parts using AI and machine vision, adapting to possible deviations of the components or their positions.
Switching from one product to another takes only a few minutes. Danny Ray Leal from JP Metal Fabrication says: "It's effortless to use. We see a huge difference. I have used a Yaskawa robot before in another facility, and I know what a big programming challenge it was. ABAGY has a very friendly interface and a high-speed launch of a new task for robots".
Max Zverkov, CEO of ABAGY adds: "Our clients successfully use ABAGY at their production sites. But for new customers, it s essential to see how the technology works in person. Therefore, we turned some of the production solutions into demo sites: the first was launched in Illinois with our partner, and the second is located in Kansas. Today we are happy to open a demo site in California to invite local manufacturers for a demo. Moreover, I live in San Francisco and love it as the technology epicenter and the location of the leading investment funds. On this robotic cell, I personally can present how adaptive robots are and how flexible we can be with any production, including the high-mix market".
The Santa Clara robotic cell is open for demos and visits. Please send a request on ABAGY's official website to schedule a free demonstration. We are always eager to demonstrate our technology and share the experience.

3D Vision: Ensenso B now also available as a mono version!
This compact 3D camera series combines a very short working distance, a large field of view and a high depth of field - perfect for bin picking applications. With its ability to capture multiple objects over a large area, it can help robots empty containers more efficiently. Now available from IDS Imaging Development Systems. In the color version of the Ensenso B, the stereo system is equipped with two RGB image sensors. This saves additional sensors and reduces installation space and hardware costs. Now, you can also choose your model to be equipped with two 5 MP mono sensors, achieving impressively high spatial precision. With enhanced sharpness and accuracy, you can tackle applications where absolute precision is essential. The great strength of the Ensenso B lies in the very precise detection of objects at close range. It offers a wide field of view and an impressively high depth of field. This means that the area in which an object is in focus is unusually large. At a distance of 30 centimetres between the camera and the object, the Z-accuracy is approx. 0.1 millimetres. The maximum working distance is 2 meters. This 3D camera series complies with protection class IP65/67 and is ideal for use in industrial environments.
