Batteries not included: the importance of robot batteries

One of the key reasons for using an industrial robot to automate a process is to improve product quality, through increased reliability and accuracy. But for robots to be truly reliable and safe, engineers should ensure they have the correct power solutions. Here, Michele Windsor, global marketing manager at robot battery specialist Ultralife Corporation, explains the impact poor design and integration of batteries can have on industrial robots.

KINGSTAR 3.5 Is Now Live: What You Need to Know

We're pleased to announce that our latest release, KINGSTAR 3.5, is now available. KINGSTAR 3.5 includes powerful new features for both Soft Motion and EtherCAT, as well as updates, bug fixes, and support for new hardware. We're most excited about two new features in KINGSTAR Soft Motion. Soft Motion now integrates LogicLab and PLC Runtime powered by AXEL into KINGSTAR, so you can further simplify application design and development. In addition, we've extended support to allow KINGSTAR EtherCAT applications to run on KINGSTAR Motion Runtimes. Applications developed with KINGSTAR EtherCAT can now be easily upgraded to KINGSTAR Motion so developers can use the built-in motion functionality.

Denso Robotics - Newest 6-axis VMB Series offers longer arm reach and higher load capacity

The new VMB series represent some of the newest members to our 6-axis family of robots. These high-performance, versatile units offer a longer arm reach and a higher load capacity than traditional models which make VMB an excellent solution for palletizing, packaging, and material handling. New features include greater air piping, valve and signal line options, as well as new programming options with state-of-the-art functions using our new WINCAPS Plus software. VMB offers an IP67 protection grade along with meeting ISO Class 5, which makes them suitable for electric parts, food manufacturing processes, and pharmaceutical and medical devices. With the addition of the new VMB large robots, all manufacturing processes can now be automated by DENSO Robotics.
