Robotics & Automation Award Win for Synergy Logistics
The warehouse tech innovator won for their multi-agent orchestration solution, SnapControl, which facilitates seamless and efficient control over all automation devices and robots within distribution centers...
Synergy Logistics has won the coveted Industry 4.0 category in the inaugural Robotics & Automation Awards 2023, which targets global industries seeking to optimize their facilities and drive efficiency and productivity.
It's for their breakthrough multi-agent orchestration software solution, SnapControl, that orchestrates all automation devices and robotic systems within warehouses from one centralized and convenient platform - but the game changing added value is the complete data picture it brings, which can facilitate tangible labor savings, plus accurate asset management decisions in real time.
Synergy bested competition from the likes of Coca Cola HBC to win and commenting on why SnapControl was voted the Industry 4.0 category winner, a Robotics & Automation Award spokesperson explained: "We ultimately voted for the Synergy customer entry because with SnapControl, companies rapidly incorporate automation into their warehouse, without major software upheavals in just weeks, not years, which is a major breakthrough in the world of warehouse automation!"
In conjunction with a rapidly expanding U.S. online retailer, Synergy's award entry demonstrated the transformative capabilities of SnapControl in a new 300,000 sq.ft warehouse featuring automated mobile robots (AMRs), carton right-sizing equipment and automated packaging systems.
SnapControl seamlessly determined the quality of manual versus automated pick tasks and identified the manual picks required in areas serviced by AMRs - with the operation achieving a sixfold increase in productivity. This translated into a return on investment (ROI) in automated resources, amounting to labor savings of over half a million dollars. On average, the company now saves over $40,000 per week, with an impressive investment payback period of just 23 weeks.
Tony Dobson, Synergy Logistics CEO, said: "We're delighted that SnapControl has been heralded as a pivotal tool in the realm of warehouse automation. By uniquely interpreting bi-directional communication between machines and advanced WMS, SnapControl facilitates efficient and accurate decision-making—a critical component of the second wave of automation recognized by leading industry analysts."

3D Vision: Ensenso B now also available as a mono version!
This compact 3D camera series combines a very short working distance, a large field of view and a high depth of field - perfect for bin picking applications. With its ability to capture multiple objects over a large area, it can help robots empty containers more efficiently. Now available from IDS Imaging Development Systems. In the color version of the Ensenso B, the stereo system is equipped with two RGB image sensors. This saves additional sensors and reduces installation space and hardware costs. Now, you can also choose your model to be equipped with two 5 MP mono sensors, achieving impressively high spatial precision. With enhanced sharpness and accuracy, you can tackle applications where absolute precision is essential. The great strength of the Ensenso B lies in the very precise detection of objects at close range. It offers a wide field of view and an impressively high depth of field. This means that the area in which an object is in focus is unusually large. At a distance of 30 centimetres between the camera and the object, the Z-accuracy is approx. 0.1 millimetres. The maximum working distance is 2 meters. This 3D camera series complies with protection class IP65/67 and is ideal for use in industrial environments.
