Lenze Receives Product Line Strategy of the Year Award from Frost & Sullivan
Prestigious award recognizes outstanding commitment to developing strong product lines for the packaging industry
UXBRIDGE, MA - MARCH 27, 2012 - Lenze Americas, a leading global manufacturer of electrical and mechanical drives, motion control and automation technology, has been presented with the 2011 North American Product Line Strategy of the Year Award for Electric Drives in the packaging equipment market.
The Product Line Strategy Award is a prestigious recognition of accomplishments in the electric drives market for packaging. The award selection process was based on in-depth interviews and primary market analysis conducted by the Frost & Sullivan industry analyst team, which concluded that Lenze has brought to market a line of products that perform exceptionally well as a cohesive unit within the packaging industry.
"Lenze is honored to receive this award from Frost & Sullivan, a well respected business research and consulting firm," states Chuck Edwards, president, Lenze Americas. "We are committed to investing in new product development, while recognizing that minimizing downtime is a priority to our package machine design customers. By delivering on these promises Lenze has maintained a leadership position-bringing 'easy generation' engineering through improved safety, mechatronics and engineering productivity."
The criteria used by Frost & Sullivan to benchmark Lenze's performance against key competitors, included breadth of product line, impact on customer value, impact on market share and breadth of applications/markets served. Their research and analysis concluded that a product line which includes electric drives, electric motors, control systems, industrial coatings, and software allows manufacturers to sell a complete system solution to a client and provide better customer service after the sale. If a packaging problem arises, it can be resolved with limited equipment downtime. Limited downtime, fewer equipment failures, and better efficiency provide both short and long-term benefits to packagers, and the positive results have led more electric-drive manufacturers to provide this solution to their customers.
"Findings from Frost & Sullivan's research illustrated that Lenze product offerings are recognized in the industry for operational efficiency, energy-consumption reduction, and return on investment to both existing and prospective customers," adds Edwards.
Lenze has been servicing the packaging industry since its first AC drives were produced in 1983. The company's motor control and drive solutions are deployed in a range of packaging applications, including shrink wrapping plus form-fit-seal, foil pouch filling and labeling machines. Customers include Multi-Pak, SA Power (Nederburg Vineyard) and Wächter Packautomatik. 3D Vision: Ensenso B now also available as a mono version!
This compact 3D camera series combines a very short working distance, a large field of view and a high depth of field - perfect for bin picking applications. With its ability to capture multiple objects over a large area, it can help robots empty containers more efficiently. Now available from IDS Imaging Development Systems. In the color version of the Ensenso B, the stereo system is equipped with two RGB image sensors. This saves additional sensors and reduces installation space and hardware costs. Now, you can also choose your model to be equipped with two 5 MP mono sensors, achieving impressively high spatial precision. With enhanced sharpness and accuracy, you can tackle applications where absolute precision is essential. The great strength of the Ensenso B lies in the very precise detection of objects at close range. It offers a wide field of view and an impressively high depth of field. This means that the area in which an object is in focus is unusually large. At a distance of 30 centimetres between the camera and the object, the Z-accuracy is approx. 0.1 millimetres. The maximum working distance is 2 meters. This 3D camera series complies with protection class IP65/67 and is ideal for use in industrial environments.
