In an old converted cowshed in Rheinau - Freistett, he, his father and his brother Martin are tinkering with a standardized gripper that facilitates manufacturing processes in industry and can be used in many different ways. This idea led to the breakthrough and laid the foundation for the international success of the later Zimmer Group. In its anniversary year 2020, the Zimmer Group employs around 1,200 people worldwide and is today one of the leading international manufacturers of automation, machine and furniture damping components as well as process engineering. In addition, the Zimmer Group is an important and valued partner for system solutions from numerous well-known national and international companies in the fields of mechanical and plant engineering as well as the aviation, automotive and furniture industries.
