Matrox Imaging Set for Automate 2022
Latest products take the stage at this premier automation event
MONTREAL, Quebec, 25 May 2022—Matrox® Imaging is thrilled to return to Automate for the 2022 edition of this automation event.
Exciting news and innovative demos
Three demonstrations highlight the effectiveness of Matrox Imaging's machine vision products.
The first features a smart camera running a project developed using flowchart-based vision software. Both traditional machine vision as well as deep learning tools are used to inspect the lips of glass bottles.
A second illustrates how two 3D profile sensors work in tandem to produce a single and more complete point-cloud representation of various objects. Vision software tools are then used to locate, measure, and inspect the objects and their features. A vision controller, hosting a network adaptor inside which interfaces to the profile sensors, runs the demo software.
The third shows the benefits of using frame grabbers with a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) device to offload image processing and data forwarding to distribute image processing, all in the goal of increasing machine vision application performance. The frame grabber boards reside in a rackmount multi-computer specifically designed for distributed computing.
Featured products
Matrox Design Assistant® X, a flowchart-based integrated development environment (IDE) for fast-tracking vision development without the need for traditional coding. It includes project templates to jumpstart development, a rich set of traditional machine vision and deep learning tools to work with and the ability to design a web-based operator interface.
Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) X, a machine-vision software development kit (SDK) for coding applications. Users value the wide range of traditional machine vision and deep learning tools available to create customized, effective solutions. Interactive software is included to configure and test image and 3D data acquisition, set up and train tools, prototype applications, and generate program code.
Matrox Iris GTX smart cameras are capable of handling traditional machine vision workloads as well as deep learning inference. These compact vision systems perform image acquisition and analytics, and provide results nearest to the manufacturing process for consistent, timely response and action.
Matrox AltiZ high-fidelity, high-speed 3D profile sensors feature a dual-camera single-laser design that reduces or eliminates scanning gaps or voids. Scan rates can reach upwards of 11,000 profiles a second, and sensor algorithms automatically generate various types of reliable 3D data—individual profiles, depth maps, or point clouds—by smartly combining or selecting the pixel data from the two integrated image sensors.
Matrox Rapixo CXP Pro frame grabbers allow for integration of custom on-board image processing and process control via a FPGA device. The Matrox Rapixo CXP Quad Data Forwarding offers the possibility of distributing image processing across multiple computers. Matrox Concord PoE network interface cards (NICs) interface readily with one or more GigE Vision® cameras and support Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) for simplified system setup.
Matrox Imaging vision controllers—Matrox 4Sight and Matrox Supersight series—range from a small fanless single computer to a rackmount multi-computer, all made for the demands of the factory floor. All feature support for multiple cameras and 3D sensors as well as real-time industrial I/Os either directly, or through Matrox Imaging or third-party standard add-in cards.
"After more than two years without live events, we are thrilled to return to the show floor," says Sam Lopez, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing. "2022 has so far been an eventful year for us, and we're looking forward to discussing it with everyone in attendance."
