The Fifth Dimension of Automation: CeiliX Debuts InfinityCrane and Mobile Ceiling-Cobot at Automate 2025
Building on its patented InfinityCrane, CeiliX now adds a Mobile Ceiling-Cobot, together creating a unified overhead platform that moves material handling and robotic tasks from the floor to the ceiling.
Detroit, USA / Euskirchen, Germany, May 2025 - The high-tech company CeiliX, which is revolutionizing the logistics and manufacturing industries with its automation solutions, will debut two groundbreaking ceiling-mounted systems in North America at Automate 2025. Building on its patented InfinityCrane, CeiliX now adds a Mobile Ceiling-Cobot, together creating a unified overhead platform that moves material handling and robotic tasks from the floor to the ceiling.
A World First in Overhead Mobility
The CeiliX technology enables omnidirectional, unrestricted movement along the ceiling. Its first product is the InfinityCrane, which can move freely in any direction, forwards, backwards, sideways or diagonally, without spatial limitations. Even obstacles such as columns in the room are no longer an issue. At the heart of CeiliX' technology is a modular, ceiling-mounted track system. It can be quickly installed, flexibly adapted to any space using a modular principle, and easily expanded as requirements grow. Multiple InfinityCranes can be used simultaneously in the same area without interfering with each other. This enables new functions, such as rotating objects in mid-air.
From Monorail to Multi-Ton Freedom
The CeiliX technology goes far beyond crane applications. Equipped with a variety of tools such as robotic arms, lifting devices and sensors, these overhead vehicles will perform tasks that previously required separate machines or manual labor.
Building on the InfinityCrane architecture, CeiliX has developed a Mobile Ceiling-Cobot in collaboration with Kassow Robots by Bosch Rexroth, one of the leading specialists in drive and control technologies. Unlike stationary or rail-bound robots, the Mobile Cobot prototype moves freely in all directions along the ceiling rail system. It can access multiple work areas overhead creating up to 50 percent additional floor space. Operating overhead, the cobot also delivers a clear safety benefit by avoiding collisions with forklifts, autonomous mobile robots, and personnel, while keeping traffic lanes and emergency exits unobstructed.
We're opening up a new dimension in automation," says Mathias Entenmann, Co-Founder and CEO of CeiliX. "By shifting processes from the floor to the ceiling, we're not just saving space, we're creating intelligent overhead systems that adapt, evolve, and scale with our customers' needs. It's a fundamental change in how factories and logistics facilities can think about movement, safety, and efficiency."
Live Demonstrations and Media Availability
At Automate 2025, visitors can experience both systems in action: InfinityCrane will showcase dynamic load handling above the booth (Kassow Robots booth 2439), while the Mobile Ceiling-Cobot executes a seamless collaborative routine on the same overhead track. CeiliX engineers will be on hand for one on one consultations, explaining how facilities can adopt the technology step by step and integrate it seamlessly into their existing automation infrastructure.
Mathias Entenmann, Co-Founder and CEO of CeiliX, will be available for media interviews. Appointments available on request. To schedule an appointment, please contact the CeiliX press team.
About CeiliX
CeiliX is a high-tech company developing revolutionary automation solutions for the logistics and manufacturing industries. Headquartered in Euskirchen, CeiliX brings innovative aerospace technology into industrial practice. The CeiliX InfinityCrane, the world's first multi-patented omnidirectional crane system, uses the ceiling as a new dimension, enabling companies to fundamentally transform their production and logistics processes. CeiliX was founded in 2024 by Torsten Siedel, Mathias Entenmann, and Lisa Seipp and has already secured more than two million euros in pre-seed funding.
About Kassow Robots
Under the motto "Strong, Fast, Simple," Kassow Robots (headquartered in Kastrup, Copenhagen) designs and manufactures exceptionally efficient, 7 axis industrial lightweight robots. Despite their long reach, these cobots deliver outstanding strength and speed, and their compact footprint allows them to operate in very confined spaces. They empower small and medium sized enterprises as well as large industrial companies to deploy sophisticated automation and programming solutions with flexibility, autonomy, and cost efficiency. Since April 2022, Bosch Rexroth has been the majority shareholder; co founder Kristian Kassow remains CEO. Alongside Kristian Kassow, Sales Director Dieter Pletscher—both recognized robotics experts—continues to drive the company's growth. The Kassow Robots product lineup includes the KR 810 (850 mm reach/10 kg payload), KR 1018 (1 000 mm/18 kg), KR 1205 (1 200 mm/5 kg), KR 1410 (1 400 mm/10 kg), and KR 1805 (1 800 mm/5 kg).
