Oriental Motor Introduces New 200 W (1/4 HP) & 400 W (1/2 HP) BMU Series Brushless Motor and Drive Package

Our Popular Easy to Use Brushless Motor Just Received a Boost in Power and Performance

Oriental Motor USA is proud to introduce our new 200 watt (1/4 HP) and 400 watt (1/2 HP) BMU Series Brushless Motor and Driver package.

The new 200 W (1/4 HP) and 400 W (1/2 HP) motors join the 30 W (1/24 HP), 60 W (1/12 HP) and 120 W (1/6 HP) family and continues the brushless motor advantage, such as flat speed torque curve, compact size, easy-to-use, easy-to-read digital speed indicator and torque output up to 610 lb-in (70 N-m). The 200 W (1/4 HP) BMU motor is now available in 100-120 VAC input and existing 200-240 VAC input. The 400 W (1/2 HP) BMU motor produces approximately 40% more starting torque than the 200 W (1/4 HP) motor and offers 100% more continuous running torque, creating significant advantages for applications that require larger loads.

The BMU Series is available in inch or metric geared output shafts and includes a 3 m (9.8 ft) motor cable.

The BMU Series 200 W (1/4 HP) and 400 W (1/2 HP) Models Key Features are:
• 200 W (1/4 HP) motor now available in both 100-120 and 200-240 VAC input.
• 400 W (1/2 HP) motor produces approximately 40% more starting torque than 200 W (1/4 HP) motor.
• Torque output up to 610 lb-in (70 N-m).

Boston Dynamics Webinar - Why Humanoids Are the Future of Manufacturing

Join us November 18th for this Webinar as we reflect on what we've learned by observing factory floors, and why we've grown convinced that chasing generalization in manipulation—both in hardware and behavior—isn't just interesting, but necessary. We'll discuss AI research threads we're exploring at Boston Dynamics to push this mission forward, and highlight opportunities our field should collectively invest more in to turn the humanoid vision, and the reinvention of manufacturing, into a practical, economically viable product.
