Basler AG and drag and bot GmbH: Joint Integration Project Facilitates Robot Programming
In a joint project between Basler AG and drag and bot GmbH, Basler's 2D cameras were integrated into the graphical robot programming software drag&bot. Thanks to the integration of the proven Basler pylon Camera Software Suite into the drag&bot software, it is now possible to intuitively operate Basler 2D cameras in robotic applications. A second result of the cooperation is an improved driver for Basler 2D cameras for the Open Source Framework ROS.
MAGNETIC GRIPPER FOR ROBOTS
The recently improved magnetic gripper from Goudsmit Magnetics is used for the automated pick-up, placement or positioning of steel or other ferromagnetic objects.
Examples include: removing sheet metal from presses, destacking products from boxes (bin picking), assembling steel parts or handling of punched steel parts, blanks and perforated steel sheets in robotic applications. The ultralight magnetic gripper is fitted with strong permanent neodymium magnets and is therefore extra safe. It can be used in grippers on robot arms. The handling magnets can be switched on and off by means of compressed air and have a tapped hole interface for attachment to a robot arm, optionally in combination with a spring plunger. Power-on Clutches are used to couple two parallel shafts. The armature hub assembly is mounted to the same shaft as the rotor assembly. The armature hub accommodates a pulley, gear, sprocket, etc., to transmit torque to the second shaft. The field assembly is mounted on the shaft and retained by a loose-fitting pin or bracket through the anti-rotation tab.
