Among the solutions were the custom Cube Melting Furnace as well as a custom Shell Melting Furnace. The cube melting furnace, capable of melting up to 95 kg of Aluminum at a time, features a "through the bottom" pouring system via crucible port, a sealing rod and an isostatic pressure refractory lid. These allow for inert gas shielding and purge during the melt cycle, as well as forcing the material from the crucible during the pouring cycle. This melting furnace enables the customer to achieve more than 90% melt efficiency while protecting the melted material from external contamination.
The custom Shell Melting Furnace is a high-capacity one, being capable of melting up to 2.5 metric tons of Aluminum. Featuring an axial aligned pouring system and isostatic pressure lid, this custom furnace allows for atmospheric inert shielding during the entire melt and pouring cycle. Using this furnace the customer could achieve high-purity, oxygen-sensitive Aluminum alloys that are as strong as steel but 3 times lighter than steel. Thanks to the advanced refractory lining Push-out system, an exhausted liner could be replaced in 2x less time compared to traditional induction melting systems and ensure a smooth manufacturing process with minimum operational losses due to equipment maintenance.
