Urbx leverages Celestica’s Robotics Center of Excellence to meet rising demand among retailers for faster, more efficient, cost-effective order fulfillment and delivery systems

BOSTON, Mass. -- Urbx Logistics, the world's first on-demand robotics fulfillment system for last-mile delivery, today announced it has selected Celestica Inc. (TSX: CLS) (NYSE: CLS), a leader in design, manufacturing, and supply chain solutions, to provide engineering and manufacturing solutions as part of the mass-market introduction and distribution of the revolutionary Urbx system.


The Urbx system leverages robotics and automation to redefine last-mile eCommerce with a unique ability to pick and pack multi-item orders in minutes via an exclusive vertical configuration that will redefine how retailers sell and consumers receive their favorite items. These solutions have the potential to transform how grocery chains, factories, retailers and distribution centers achieve on-demand order fulfillment.

Celestica's Robotics Center of Excellence will provide robotic engineering and manufacturing expertise in support of the Urbx solution. Urbx selected Celestica based on the company's expertise in robotics and more than 25-year history of manufacturing excellence in helping OEMs bring complex products to market through their global supply chain strength, focus on quality, automation and best-in-class engineering capabilities.
