Filling A Room With Single-line Drawing

A project by Mattias Jones: Towards the end of 2012, as part of The Festival of the Mind in Sheffield, myself and a small team of technicians, coders and mathematicians developed a drawing system and put it to work. The robots drew one line pattern solutions, the shortest line possible, derived from theories on how bees fly from flower to flower. It ended up covering three walls and the floor of a twenty foot cube in one unbroken line.

DC Servo Motor Sizing Made Easy: A Practical 1/2 Day Course presented by Jan Braun, maxon motor ag

This half-day seminar provides the practical information you need to successfully select the right DC motor -- be it brushed or brushless -- for your application. You'll learn about the interpretation of motor data and how you can use this information for motor sizing. Whether you need high speed and dynamics or just high torque, this seminar will teach you to size a motor + drive with just the right power reserves, avoiding costly oversized motors.

CES Gets Robots All Wrong

We may have reached a tipping point where having a robot zone does everyone a disservice. Outside of a couple of very well known and popular robots, like Paro and Pleo, the robot zone was primarily filled with component company booths.

Palladyne IQ - Unlocking new frontiers for robotic performance.

Palladyne IQ is a closed-loop autonomy software that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies to provide human-like reasoning capabilities for industrial robots and collaborative robots (cobots). By enabling robots to perceive variations or changes in the real-world environment and adapt to them dynamically, Palladyne IQ helps make robots smarter today and ready to handle jobs that have historically been too complex to automate.
