Gamma Two Robotics' security robot 'Vigilus' recently completed a full day's work, patrolling a parking garage for eight hours. And it did it all autonomously. No person helped the robot, told it how to navigate the garage, when to yield to moving cars, nor how to avoid obstacles in its path.
Seabed Adds Schilling Robotics HD Systems
Schilling Robotics, LLC, experts in subsea systems, announced today the
delivery of a new HD(TM) ROV system to underwater technology firm Seabed.
The order was for HD 23, which is a 150hp, 4,000m-rated ROV system and
was delivered in December 2011.

In a January 2012 survey conducted by Persuadable Research Corporation, it is clear that most people would be in favor of domestic robots. The list of task abilities that is desired from a domestic robot is quite long. At the top of the list is moving heavy things and providing home security. Other tasks include cleaning windows, washing floors and dishes and doing laundry. Interestingly, nearly half, 41%, said they might consider a loan to pay for a robot.

Mr. Pedersen founded RE2, Inc. in July of 2001 to advance the state of the art in robotics technologies for the military. Since that time, Mr. Pedersen has grown the company to over 60 employees with work in all aspects of robotics from innovative research in actuation and control to manufacturing of highly complex 2-arm manipulation systems. Mr. Pedersen currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Robotics Division of National Defense Industry Association (NDIA) and sits on the NDIA Board of Trustees. He also sits on the Robotics Technology Consortium (RTC) Board of Directors and the OSD Joint Ground Robotics Enterprise Senior Steering Group.
