Exotec builds 4,000th robot as global expansion accelerates

Latest milestone comes just six months after the warehouse robotics company manufactured its 3,000th robot

Exotec, a global warehouse robotics provider, has completed the production of its 4,000th robot. This will help further accelerate the industrial unicorn's growth internationally and provides a powerful endorsement of the company's successes in 2022.

The completion of the 4,000th robot comes just six months after Exotec manufactured its 3,000th Skypod robot, highlighting strong demand for the organization's signature solution. The company now has 550 employees globally, of which 300 have been recruited this year. The Skypod robots continue to be produced entirely by Exotec at its headquarters in Croix, France, and exported globally.

Exotec's recent success and international expansion have also been reflected in the company's financial performance. In the last three years alone, Exotec tripled its annual revenue, with most of the growth coming from rapid international expansion. Exotec was also ranked eighth in the Financial Times FT1000 list of fastest-growing European businesses in 2022.

"We're extremely proud to have completed production of our 4,000th robot, with many more to come in the near future. Reaching this point so soon after our 3,000th robot milestone is a highlight of our manufacturing capabilities and a testament to the growing demand for our products globally." says Exotec CEO and Co-founder, Romain Moulin.

"This success owes everything to the hard work and unwavering commitment of our teams, all of whom have played their part in putting Exotec on the map and setting us on a path to sustained growth.

"We have no plans to rest on our laurels in terms of further refining our technology. We will continue to recruit new people not just in manufacturing, but also in R&D. After all, efficiency in warehousing and logistics has never been more important, so we want to make sure our customers have everything they need to face the future with confidence."

How cameras deliver sharp images despite changing distances

IDS Imaging Development Systems offers a range of models, from a webcam-like camera in industrial quality to a tiny autofocus camera that weighs just12 grams. The 13 MP autofocus camera uEye XC closes the market gap between industrial cameras and webcams. Setting up and operating only requires a cable connection. After that, the autofocus camera immediately delivers high-resolution, detailed images and videos. With the optionally available, quickly exchangeable macro lens, users can easily shorten the minimum object distance of the camera. This makes it also suitable for close-up applications. Focus from a distance of just 10 cm. The uEye XS is even more compact and fits into almost any application with its size of just 26.4 x 23 x 21.7 mm. Thanks to its autofocus and 5 MP CMOS sensor, it delivers consistently sharp images and videos from a distance of just 10 cm. When it comes to image quality, natural color reproduction and harmonious contrast are also decisive factors. IDS has therefore equipped the uEye XS with many other practical automatic features familiar from consumer technology. This includes white balance, exposure and gain. As a result, it delivers the best possible result in every situation.
