Robotics, Machine Vision, and Motion Control Segments at Highest Levels of Growth Ever
Schmalz Inc. will showcase its portfolio of innovative vacuum handling solutions at the composites and advanced material Expo CAMX 2017 in Orlando, Florida. One of the highlights at booth A52 includes the Schmalz Needle Gripper (SNG-M) for handling composite textiles and preforms. This needle gripper is specifically designed to handle highly permeable workpieces.
The IEC 61850 for utility automation is the international standard to regulate a unified and standardized communication protocol for electrical substation and power grid automation.
Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry's leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, has been named Distributor of the Year at the 2017 Elektra Awards.
Robots as inconspicuous as they are ubiquitous represent the vision of researchers in the new and burgeoning field of material robotics.
• Skypod Robots move 4 times faster, 5 times higher than current industry standard • System handles twice the number of picks per hour • Skypod Robots deployed at Cdiscount warehouse
Logic Supply's new ML100G-31 brings 7th gen. Kaby Lake processing to pocket-sized computing
Darrell Etherington for TechCrunch: Its first product is a sensor-laden suit that a person can wear to demonstrate actions so that a robot can then replicate what they do.
Several different versions of the high-torque, brushless EC-i motors from maxon motor are now available in small diameters. They are perfect for hand-held devices and robotic applications.
GreyOrange(TM) launches next-gen AI, GreyMatter(TM), for robotics warehouse automation at new logistics center of Nitori, Japan's largest home furnishing chain
The GreyOrange goods-to-person robotics system at the Osaka warehouse of 160,000 square metres is one of the largest Butler sites in the world. It has been designed to handle automated inventory storage (putaway) and picking using self-navigating robots to bring mobile shelves of inventory to the operator to accelerate putaway and order fulfilment.
Our approach is to drive modularity and mobility into the core system architecture so that the automation is less static and monolithic, and can adapt to the changing nature of scientific research.
Offline Programming Software is Single Solution for Robotic Hammer Peening of Automotive Stamping Dies
Daimler wanted to develop a hammer peening process for polishing the stamping dies used to manufacture body panels for Mercedes-Benz cars. A robot was essential to the process. Little did the automaker know how difficult it would be to program a robot to handle the millions of toolpath calculations required for this intensive process. Conventional software tools were not up to the task. A three-year collaboration between Daimler and Robotmaster resulted in a robust software solution that not only made the programming for these large, complex dies easy and error-free, it reduced offline programming time by 70 percent. Once they had a foolproof solution for hammer peening, Daimler broadened their sights to other robotic processes. Laser hardening, laser cladding, and induction hardening also proved to be a great match with Robotmaster's single software solution.

REIKU's Cable Saver™ Solution eliminates downtime, loss of revenue, expensive cable and hose replacement costs, maintenance labour costs. It's available in three sizes 36, 52 and 70 mm. All of the robots cables and hoses are protected when routed through the Cable Saver™ corrugated tubing. The Cable Saver™ uses a spring retraction system housed inside the Energy Tube™ to keep this service loop out of harms way in safe location at the rear of the Robot when not required. The Cable Saver™ is a COMPLETE solution for any make or model of robot. It installs quickly-on either side of the robot and has been tested to resist over 15 million repetitive cycles.
