A MiR500 Robot Lowers Transport Costs at Schneider Electric

The Schneider Electric Polska plant deals with the production of low voltage apparatus switches and accessories for these products. They have implemented an autonomous mobile robot MiR500 that transports finished products between the production line and the warehouse.

MakinaRocks, Hyundai Robotics sign MOU to 'advance AI-based industrial robot arm anomaly detection'

"As an increasing number of customers request AI-integrated robots, an AI-based analysis platform for robot functions is an indispensable necessity. We plan to expand our userbase with robots that can autonomously predict failures and perform quality management."

Incremental Steps to Creating Value With Industrial Data Analytics

There is a lot of buzz surrounding industrial analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). However, companies are not limited to taking large and costly decisions when it comes to exploring the possibilities.

Innovative Manufacturing Approach Reduces Costs and Optimizes Electrification Time to Market

Manufacturers looking to enter or expand their electrification business often find themselves balancing key production requirements with the unpredictability of an emerging market where best-practice standards are still evolving.

Triad of Torque, Speed and Precision. Applications? Step Into the Ring.

Many applications require drive solutions that have a central opening through which parts of the application can be guided. Examples of this can be found in optics and photonics for laser steering systems or in automation and robotics for semiconductor handling systems.

A brighter future? Automation trends of 2021

The latest Manufacturing Institute for Supply Management's (ISM) Report on Business, reveals that economic activity in the manufacturing sector grew significantly in October 2020.

Every position is being assessed by small manufacturers. Jobs that can be replaced with robots make the company more attractive for a potential buyer.

Readers Choice 2020: Using Mesh Network Applications for Robotics

Many companies make mesh network products for home Wi-Fi systems. Those are indeed valid and popular applications, but there are ample opportunities to use mesh networks for robotics, too.

A philosophy of automation - TM Robotics and Evershed help Ricoh automate its manufacturing process

Ricoh approached Evershed Robotics initially, who suggested using a combination of Toshiba Machine TH650 SCARA robots and a Toshiba Machine Cartesian robot to work with their six bowl feeders and a rotary index table.

3PL's New Rack Supported Work Platforms Optimized for Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs)

While AMRs can be deployed in existing warehouse and distribution centers, some considerations should be considered to ensure they navigate and perform at their peak. Specifically, the durability and condition of the flooring upon which they travel.

Controlling 6-Axis Hexapod Micro-Robots via EtherCAT®

Manufacturing and quality assurance processes in electronics production, mechanical engineering and the automotive industry increasingly require multi-axis positioning systems. At the same time, the requirements in terms of accuracy are also increasing.

The ERT150 - Dorner’s Next Evolution of Edge Roller Technology Conveyors

The ERT150 - Dorner's Next Evolution of Edge Roller Technology Conveyors

The next evolution in Dorner's Edge Roller Technology conveyor platform, the ERT®150, is ideal for small and light-load assembly automation, as well as medical and medical-device assembly application. The ERT platform is the only pallet conveyor of its kind available with an ISO Standard Class 4 rating for cleanroom applications. Earning the ISO Standard 14644-1 Class 4 rating means Dorner's ERT150 will conform and not contribute to the contamination of cleanrooms to those standards. As implied by its name, the ERT150 (Edge Roller Technology) uses rollers to move pallets through the conveyor smoothly with no friction (a byproduct often seen in belt-driven platforms). The conveyor's open design eliminates concerns of small parts or screws dropping into rollers and causing conveyor damage or jamming. The ERT150 is suited to operate in cleanroom environments requiring a pallet handling conveyor. It is capable of zoning for no or low-back pressure accumulation and is ideal for automation assembly applications within industries including medical devices, electronics, consumer goods among others.
